Well this was a fun Carp Swim. Made possible in part by the Piliated Woodpecker that kept throwing Black Snakes out of the Trees Above. The aforementioned snakes were easily replaceable by a length of black rope I dug out of my truck, and by one black snake Mike caught and was later gestured toward a car door. Alex B. who was in the car made an escape over his buddie "Bubba" before Bubba even registered what was going on. Alex then proceeded to set a speed and distance record for getting away from a snake, the likes of which I have only ever seen with Alibi Rob. Oooh tough guys go figure!!
Once the Woodpecker had eliminated most of the snakes, the black rope came out and a few really good "gotcha's" ensued. I still have a bruise from Sharon. Boy a little harmless fun with black rope can really get her upset. Ouch! Gosh Sharon you can really stand toe to toe with sailors in the verbage department! I still don't know what some of those words you used mean. Well I was probably laughing too hard to really listen!

Cookie Schools us on the Finer art of Monster Potomac Catfish
Well we got some results on this trip. There are tricks to get these big boys and Cookie has got the technique down. Even got into a school of small striper. Such a strange thing to be fishing near DC, the smells, sounds and sights are so incongruous with most of my fishing experiences. But those big Cats seem to like the waters round our capitol. So the first pics of the 2010 season are up. Make sure you click on the read more link.
Back from the NC Fishing Trip on the Vonda Kay with Bill
Sara waiting for the Bite to Start!
Wow what a busy summer. Lots of work and very little play this past year. Too busy to even touch the website. But at last got some vacation time in and went to see out favorite salt water fishing guide Bill Hamner. He put us on to some good fishing out of Top Sail Island, NC on the Vonda Kay.
It was good to get in some much needed fishing this season. Our well known friends Bill and Lisa hosted myself, Alibi Rob and Sara during our trip. We only got out once with the late season changing weather but it was indeed worthwhile. Sara caught her first shark, as well as some snapper. Hopefully she's hooked. If you get a chance definitely let Bill H hook you up on the Vonda Kay.
